Let's Get Started

We are an emerging collective providing exceptional personal consulting services in Landscape Architecture, Arboriculture and Urban Forestry.

At the root of NewLeaf - Meet Gina Brouwer

Gina’s path is about experiences, opportunities, perspective and life long learning.  Curves, bumps, and sharp stones along the path demand innovative thought.  Gina works to infuse balance in her day-to-day and in the spaces she influences and that influence her.   Designers are space users who are acutely aware of the function, materials and flow that surrounds them.  Keeping her observations keen, Gina is constantly developing ideas and solutions for shaping meaningful spaces.

Gina is a Landscape Architect licensed by the Ontario Association of Landscape Architects (OALA), which maintains standards of professional practice and conduct to serve and protect the public interest.  The Canadian Society of Landscape Architects (CSLA) is the unifying organization advancing the art, science and practice on a national level.  The profession of Landscape Architecture forms distinct spaces all around us – in our cities, towns, communities and neighbourhoods; in the design of our urban places, open spaces, waterfronts and streetscapes; in the protection, enhancement and management of our park systems; and the conservation of heritage and cultural landscapes.

Gina Brouwer is a Consulting Arborist certified with the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) demonstrating the proper knowledge and skills, as well as high level of dedication to the profession and community in ensuring the safety, health, and preservation of trees.  Through research, technology, and education, the ISA promotes the professional practice of arboriculture and fosters greater worldwide awareness of the benefits of trees.  Gina has the ISA Tree Risk Assessment Qualification (TRAQ).

Gina Brouwer has a Master of Forest Conservation (MFC) from the University of Toronto Faculty of Forestry specializing in Urban Forestry.  This professional, course-based, interdisciplinary program covers all aspects of forest conservation in Canada and around the world.  The concept of Urban Forestry was created at the University of Toronto and includes the management of trees for their contribution to the well-being of urban society.
